Block Shop Textiles Scarf | Quaker
Lily and Hopie Stockman—the sisters behind Los Angeles-based Block Shop Textiles—work closely with a community of master printers in Bagru, India, to design and blockprint their collection of colorful, covetable scarves. Using non-toxic vegetable dyes on the finest blend of Indian 25%/75% silk/cotton, the results are pieces of wearable art. Seen here is Quaker, a modern take on the traditional American Quaker quilts of the 19th century, printed using natural ochre and rust dyes for the most beautiful desert colorway. The scarf measures 34" x 86" and features natural selvedge on the long sides. Please note that variation in printing and color are hallmarks of hand blockprinting with natural dyes, and imperfections should not be considered a defect.
