Vintage Rag Rug/Blanket from Scandinavia
Combining durability and simple elegance, rag rugs were a specialty of Scandinavian farmers who, during long winters, would supplement their incomes by weaving rugs such as this one on home looms. This particular rug measures approximately 82" x 64"; features ivory, denim blue, pink, and red stripes punctuated by pops of black; and is actually two 3'2" wide runners that have been carefully stitched together. This piece is especially soft, and could easily be used as a cozy blanket. Due to this item's handmade vintage nature, slight weaving imperfections and color variations may occur—this is part of its unique beauty, and should not be considered a defect.
